Calculation of residual load bearing capacity of reinforced concrete structures after exposed to fire

Abstract

It needs to access the load resistance of reinforced concrete structures after exposed to fire according to recent safety requirements. This arrticle presents a calculation method for the residual load bearing capacity of reinforced structures after exposed to fire, using SAFIR - a structural analysis software. This study investigates a number of factors affecting the load-bearing capacity of concrete structures after fire including fire duration, the thickness of concrete cover, and the eccentriccity of compression load to columns. Based on the results, several comments on the load-bearing capacity of concrete structures after fire are provided.
