Fem modeling for frp-reinforced concrete beams strengthened in shear by FRP laminates

Abstract

This research presents an analytical study on the behavior of FRP-reinforced concrete beams strengthened in shear by FRP laminates. The FEM model is used to verify the results from the  experimental studies. The parametric studies are conducted to study the effects of number of FRP layers on the behaviors of beams. The analytical results indicate that the shear strengths of the beams are increased with the increase in the number of FRP layers. As comparing with the controlled beams, the shear strength of the beams with two layers of FRP increases by 57%.
