Numerical investigation of the effect of longitudinal reinforcement ratio on shear resistance of prestressed concrete beams

Abstract

Shear failure in prestressed reinforced concrete structures is a brittle, sudden happen and hazardous. This paper presents a study to numerical investigate the influence of reinforcing ratio (s) on shear resistance of prestressed concrete beams without stirrupts and subjected to concentrated loads. The numerical investigate method by Ansys simulation software gives high accuracy results, saving the cost of doing experiments.
