Technology and process of 3D concrete printing used to construct full scaled houses

Abstract

Due to advantages as saving labour, time, fee of construction and art design, application of 3D concrete printing to civil and infrastructure construction has become popularly, especially since 2015. However, up to now, there are no standards or technical guideline issued to cover specifications of 3D printed concrete in terms of rheology, printability, durability and printing process. This paper presents technologies of 3D concrete printing, makes comparison and evaluation to recommend a suitable technology of 3D concrete printing used in Viet Nam currently. Especially, the paper decribes detailed process of 3D concrete printing applied sucessfully to print full scaled houses in Viet Nam with slab areas from 60 to 120 m2.
