Ductility of reinforced concrete and the problem of redistribution of internal force in the structure

Abstract

In this article, the authors present the need to consider the plasticity of reinforced concrete structures, related to the ability to redistribution capacity of internal forces in the structure, through specific numerical calculation of a two-span reinforced concrete beam, with consideration of inelastic deformation, especially based on the moment-curvature relationship diagram, built on SAP2000 software, drawing conclusions about the relationship between the redistribution of internal forces and ductility of reinforced concrete, specifically related to the arrangement of longitudinal reinforcements and hoop reinforcements in beams, as well as the ability to save
reinforcement while still satisfying limit state requirements by taking into account the ductility of reinforced concrete.
