Stability analysis of embankment during construction: phased construction method approach
Abstract
The embankment in the Mekong Delta not only serves as a primary component for flood control projects but also plays a crucial role in the region's transportation system. During construction, challenges often arise when working on soft ground due to low bearing capacity and insufficient load-bearing capability of the soil layers beneath. This study focuses on calculating the bearing capacity of the soft ground beneath the embankment foundation. It proposes phased construction measures to enhance the strength and load-bearing capacity of the underlying soil layers. The research results indicate that implementing a phased construction method meets the stability requirements, resulting in a more solid and stable foundation.
