Abstract

Load and action design Standard TCVN 2737-2023 was announced and took effect from June 29, 2023, totally replacing TCVN 2737-1995. The new Standard was issued with the modern approach that European and American standards are using, correcting the limitations of the old Standard, however, because it takes effect immediately, there are no comparitive studies in terms of number of piles and longitudinal reinforcement in reinforced concrete building structure. Based on the design analysis of 10 buildings from 14.4 m high (4 floors) to 74 m (20 floors) using RDsuite software[3] according to both Standards, the paper has investigated the changes of number of piles and weight of longitudinal reinforcement, which are the parameters affecting significally on the the project budget.
