ADJECTIVE-DERIVED NOMINALISATION AND ITS APPLICATION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract
Of cases of part-of-speech changes, normalization from adjectives is considered to be one of the most popular phenomena in almost all languages, among which English is of no exception. Based on document analysis, the study gives a vivid picture of adjective nominalization in English. The findings from this study not only contribute to the effectiveness of the study and the teaching of vocabulary in language teaching but also help language learners acquire and broaden their lexicon of the language - an inevitably essential element for skill development in foreign language learning.
