Abstract
This study delves into the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence (AI) presents for lawyers in the legal profession. AI offers significant benefits, including automating repetitive tasks, enhancing workflow efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving the accuracy of legal research and analysis. With AI, lawyers can save time on mundane activities and focus more on strategic advisory roles. However, the rapid adoption of AI also raises critical challenges, such as ethical concerns around biased algorithms, responsibility for AI-driven decisions, and the risk of client data breaches. Additionally, the automation of basic legal tasks poses a threat to employment, especially for junior legal staff. To thrive in this new era, lawyers must acquire technological skills and develop new competencies to complement AI’s capabilities. This study emphasizes the importance of balancing AI integration with human judgment to preserve ethics, professionalism, and client trust in legal practice.
