THE PROBLEM OF REFLECTING REALITY IN THE CONCEPT OF MEDIEVAL VIETNAMESE LITERATURE

Abstract

Due to the nation's historical conditions, since the beginning of written literature, along with composition, medieval writers have determined that literature must be closely tied to reality. In addition to the moral education function, the aesthetic function and the function of reflecting reality are highly emphasized by our ancestors. Accordingly, literature must reflect the nation's history, must contribute to promoting patriotism, and must be a spiritual weapon to fight against foreign invaders. Literature must still closely follow social life, reflect thoughts and aspirations, and contribute to creating a prosperous and happy life for the people to create a solid foundation for literature and art. Using sociological methods and analysis - synthesis, the article clearly highlights the relationship between literature and reality in the perspective of medieval writers.
