Aesthetic signals (AS) constitute the semiotic material underlying linguistic creativity. Analyzing literary works from the perspective of AS offers an effective means of decoding artistic meanings, especially in the interplay between aesthetic signals and natural language. Building on the theoretical foundation of AS proposed by Vietnamese linguists and employing statistical-descriptive methods, semantic analysis, and comparative techniques, this study examines the system of natural aesthetic signals (NAS) in Nguyen Trai’s Quoc am thi tap, a seminal collection of Nom poetry. The research identifies the core characteristics and expressive values of NAS in Nguyen Trai’s poetry, highlighting how these signals form a distinct and innovative semiotic system. This system not only reflects this poet's humanistic ideals and reclusive spirit but also contributes to shaping his unique poetic style.
