Abstract
In the early twentieth century, to serve the goal of colonial exploitation, the French government established a system of civil medical facilities in Cochinchina. In addition to the main medical facilities in Saigon - Cho Lon, the French government gradually built and expanded Western medical facilities in Cochinchina provinces, moving towards areas in the Long Xuyen Quadrangle. As a result, a number of hospitals, maternity homes, medical stations, medicine dispensing rooms, etc. were established and operated in Long Xuyen province. Although these medical facilities were only on a small scale, they also began to participate in medical examination and treatment and epidemic prevention activities for the French government and a part of the population in Long Xuyen in the early twentieth century.
