AN OVERVIEW OF RESEACHES ON COMMON PALM CIVETS PARADOXURUS HERMAPHRODITUS PALLAS, 1777

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of researches on common palm civets in the world and in Vietnam. The previous publications mainly mentioned the distribution, genetic diversity, phylogeny and some biological characteristinnk., of this species in nature. Recently, in Vietnam, a number of fairly comprehensive studies on the growth, reproduction, blood physiology and reproductive hormones of this species in captivity have been carried out. It is necessary to continue to study common diseases; physiological and biochemical indicators of blood and urine in pathological cases; Assisted reproductive techniques and animal welfare of the common palm civets under rearing conditions.
