Abstract

Thuan (real name Doan Anh Thuan) is an overseas writer who appeared in the early years of the 21st century but quickly became a prominent phenomenon, being the object of readers' search because of his new, post-modern writing style. With a keen eye, Thuan's literature illuminates the dark corners of contemporary life, suggesting many global social issues. That is the fate of migrants revolving around the problems of stalemate immigration, making them disillusioned with the West, becoming alienated in an emotionless, lonely life away from home. The realistic picture with all the chaos, complexity, movements, hiddenness and instability in Thuan's novel contributes to affirming a keen sense and profound human messages.
