SOUTHERN LANGUAGE IN TRAN KIM TRAC’S SHORT STORY

Abstract

Tran Kim Trac is an outstanding writer of Southern Vietnamese literature. He writes many literary genres, but the most successful one is the short story. Tran Kim Trac’s short stories cover a cultural space from Northern Vietnam to Southern Vietnam, but Southern Vietnamese space is the most fundamental. Therefore, his short stories reveal many aspects of Southern Vietnamese culture, including language. Southern Vietnamese language in Tran Kim Trac’s short stories is outstanding in terms of local language in the river region and conversational language with the imprints of honest and sincere people.
