SOUTHERN LANGUAGE IN DINH THI THU VAN’S POETRY

Abstract

Dinh Thi Thu Van is a prominent poet of the Mekong Delta. Her poetry specializes in writing about pain, anxiety, longing, and despair in love. In Dinh Thi Thu Van's poetry, there is always a simple, rustic, gentle, elegant feature, hidden a very unique poetic quality of a girl in the western countryside. Therefore, Dinh Thi Thu Van's poetry shows many aspects from the southern countryside and the language is imbued with the impression of a rustic, simple, and honest person.
