Abstract
Rakum Palm (Salacca wallichiana Mart) is a wild plant species distributed mainly in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the phytochemical constituents of S. wallichiana have been published. In this article, the peel of S. wallichiana was extracted to obtain a crude extraction and a preliminary qualitative chemical composition. The results showed that the crude ethanol extraction yield was 6.72 ± 0.23 (%). The constituents of the S. wallichiana extract included triterpenoids, flavonoids, polyphenols, tannin, reducting sugar, cardiac glycoside, and organic acids
