POPULATION AGING, SOCIAL SECURITY POLICY FOR THE ELDERLY IN VIETNAM AND SOME MAIN RESEARCH ORIENTATIONS

Abstract

Viet Nam has begun to experience rapid population aging, posing many social security challenges for the elderly. So far, social security policies have met some basic needs of the elderly, especially in the field of health care and social assistance. However, the scope of benefits and the level of social benefits are still low and the policy has not yet covered the diverse needs of the elderly. The article emphasizes the orientation of research on challenges and policy gaps in order to provide a scientific and practical basis for comprehensive policy proposals for the elderly.
