The Viewpoints, Guidelines, and Policies of the Party and the State on the Establishment of the Council of Public Universities.

Abstract

The comprehensive renovation of our country, initiated and led by our Party, has reaped many achievements of which we can be proud. The socio-economic landscape has undergone significant transformations and improvements, and Vietnam's prestige and position on the international stage have continuously been elevated. A critical contribution to these achievements is in the field of education and training, particularly higher education. With the attention of the Party and the State, Vietnamese higher education has progressively undergone robust transformation. As of 2021, our country has four universities in the world's top 1,000, eleven universities in QS's Asian rankings, and many fields of study are in the top 500 worldwide. These achievements cannot be separated from the innovative management methods of universities, particularly public universities, when implementing the University Council model. This article outlines the views, policies, and strategies of the Party and the State regarding the Public University Council model to supplement and perfect the scientific arguments for this important mechanism in our public universities today.
