Abstract: During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh consistently emphasized the need to focus on building a national value system, which was also his lifelong goal. In this article, basing on his analysis of Ho Chi Minh's thought on the Vietnamese value system, the author elaborates and clarifies the viewpoints and strategic orientations of the Party and State of Vietnam in the process of realizing the national value system, as well as the Party's application of Ho Chi Minh’s thought in constructing the system of national values, cultural values, family values, and standards for Vietnamese man. At the same time, the author also proposes some solutions for building the Vietnamese value system in the new period.
