Abstract: Speaking of the canal digging effort in Southern Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty, perhaps Vinh Te is the most famous canal. In 2024, An Giang province will solemnly celebrate the 200th anniversary of the completion of this historic canal. However, there is another canal that was created afterward, which can be seen as a “continuation” of Vinh Te canal, but it is not widely known: Vinh An canal. In 2024, this canal will celebrate its 180th anniversary. Throughout its nearly two-century existence, Vinh An canal has played an important role in the economic development and transportation of the Mekong Delta
