Tóm tắt

Abstract: In this article, the author presents several Buddhist philosophical concepts of human life from the perspective of Ngô Thì Nhậm. Through this, it demonstrates the profound influence of Buddhist philosophy on him. Despite of being a Confucian scholar, he proved to be very knowledgeable about Buddhist teachings. The work "Trúc Lâm tông chỉ nguyên Thanh" marks the beginning of his Buddhist philosophical career. In this work, concepts of Buddhist human life, such as Desire (Dục), Mind (Tâm), Cause and Effect (Nhân quả), Karma (Nghiệp báo), Reincarnation (Luân hồi), and Liberation (Giải thoát), were clearly explained by Ngô Thì Nhậm, imbued with a spirit of active worldly engagement. This confirms that his social philosophy was deeply colored by Buddhist thought..
