Tóm tắt

Abstract: The Dam San epic of the Ede people is not only a heroic narrative of an ancient community but also a treasury of knowledge deeply reflecting the philosophy of human–nature relations. Through the hero Dam San and the epic motifs, the article analyzes three core philosophical dimensions: (1) dependence on nature for survival; (2) the aspiration to conquer nature; and (3) awareness of protection and harmony with nature. These dimensions interweave and complement one another, forming a distinctive worldview and philosophy of life of the Ede people. This philosophy remains valuable today as guidance for human–nature interaction amid modern environmental and ecological challenges.

Keywords: epic, Dam San, philosophy, human, nature.
