Abstract

Abstract: This paper examines how the meaning of the concept of “value” came to be understood in the mid-twentieth century following Heidegger’s writings on Nietzsche. The author reviews the development of definitions of the concept of value. The paper analyzes Nietzsche’s contributions to the development of thinking about value and considers Heidegger’s view of Nietzsche’s role in transforming the understanding of the concept of value. It also identifies and describes the basic concepts in Nietzsche’s philosophy and examines the place of values among them. It clarifies the basic features of the concept of “value” in Nietzsche’s philosophy from Heidegger’s perspective.
