Legal regulations on public interest litigation in selected countries and recommendations for Vietnam

Abstract

Public interest litigation gives rise to a litigation process in Court with the aim of ensuring social justice and bringing common benefits to the whole community. The 2015 Civil Procedure Code has provisions on public interest litigation; however, due to certain shortcomings, this method is not really effective in practice. Public interest litigation are stipulated in the civil procedural laws of many countries in the world; therefore, studying their regulations on this issue will create a basis for proposals and recommendations to improve Vietnam’s civil procedural laws in the coming time.
