Right to alter the first-instance court’s judgment of the Trial panel of the appellate court according to the Vietnamese Criminal Procedure

Abstract

The article analyzes and evaluates some regulations of Vietnamese criminal procedure law on the right to alter the first-instance court’s judgment of the Trial panel of the appellate court, focusing on shortcomings and limitations that are the causes of difficulties for the application of the law in practice. Therefore, the author makes a proposal to amend and supplement the regulations of the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code on the right to alter the first-instance court’s judgment of the Trial panel of the appellate court.
