Presently, volunteer tourism has emerged as a prevalent trend in the tourism industry. Travelers engaging in volunteer tourism seek not only novel and exciting experiences but also aspire to make positive contributions to the local communities they visit. This trend signifies the evolution of a new mindset in travel, focusing on interaction and unique experiences, which not only benefits tourists and local communities but also contributes to sustainable tourism development. Research in this area employs data collection methods, sifts the information, and draws from previous studies to comprehensively analyze the motivations of volunteer tourists within the context of sustainable tourism development. The objective of research is to propose solutions for harnessing the potential of volunteer tourism in alignment with its capabilities, aiding tourism organizations in maintaining and enhancing tourist participation in volunteer activities by understanding and appropriately responding to their needs, thereby optimizing the tourist experience. Moreover, shaping volunteer tourism to actively and sustainably contribute to the local community and natural environment aims toward the advancement of sustainable tourism development.
