CU CHI DISTRICT – HO CHI MINH CITY FROM TRADITIONAL AGRICULTURE TO HIGH-TECH AGRICULTURE

Abstract
Cu Chi district, a district on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, has had many changes from traditional agricultural production to the development of high-tech agriculture. The article uses historical and logical methods to clarify the results achieved by Cu Chi district from converting traditional rice farming to forming a number of agricultural production areas towards high-tech application: greenhouses, net houses, drip irrigation systems in orchid production, vegetable production according to the VietGap process, applying technology to dairy farming, contributing to improving production, stabilizing prices and product quality. The article also highlights limitations in production, investment, and product consumption and makes a number of recommendations, to provide more scientific arguments for Cu Chi district to plan reasonable policies for agricultural development applying new achievements of science and technology in the current context of increasingly deep international economic integration.
