Khai Hung is considered the “pillar” pen of the Self-Reliance Union with a series of compositions clearly demonstrating the group's principles. With the aim of discovering the image of a woman in Khai Hung's novels, the article applies the feminist criticism theory to point out the uniqueness in the writer's way of looking at and building characters. The results show that the "young girls" are always described by the writer in the opposite relation to the traditional women. They have a very beautiful appearance and a strong desire to live as themselves in love and marriage. Their beauty is judged not only by others, but also more importantly by their self-awareness. That is a new feature showing the progressive vision of Khai Hung in the movement of fighting for equality and happiness of the other half of the world.
