Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the current status of implementation of poverty reduction policies for ethnic minorities in Dong Van district, Ha Giang province, from there, propose some solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementing poverty reduction policies. Besides collecting secondary data from different reporting sources, the research mainly uses analysis, comparison, investigation and field survey methods. Research results show that through evaluating four groups of policies (policies on vocational training and job creation, support policies to create conditions for the poor to access basic services, credit policies, specific support policies). In the period of 2018 - 2022, poverty reduction policies had a positive impact on the ethnic minority community in Dong Van district in many fields such as raising income, creating jobs, reducing poverty rates, etc. However, the actual efficiency of poverty reduction policies is still not high. The poverty reduction policies deployed in the district still exist and are limited due to lack of synchronization and unsuitability for implementation. This study is the basis for authorities at all levels to refer to and implement policies, contributing to improving the effectiveness of ethnic minority poverty reduction policies in Dong Van district in the coming time.
