CURRENT STATUS OF TEACHING CONTENT "INTRODUCTION TO TRADITIONAL CRAFTS" IN EXPERIENTIAL ACTIVITIES GRADE 4 IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

The process of industrialization and modernization has been posing many challenges for traditional industries in Vietnam. At the same time, a new point in the 2018 General Education program focuses on integrating national cultural education content into Social Science subjects and experiential activities. This study uses a questionnaire survey to explore the current status of cultural value education through traditional occupations in the 4th-grade Experiential Activities subject. Survey results of 94 teachers and administrators showed that most teachers had a correct awareness of the goals and importance of cultural value education through assessing the necessity and level of application used at a high level. At the same time, teachers prioritize using familiar and easy-to-implement techniques such as questions and answers, visualization,... in teaching. At the same time, advantage factors are goals, programs, content, professional direction and facilities to serve teaching activities. Difficulties in implementing content include limited research capacity, lesson design, preparation and organization of learning activities for students due to professional reference sources.
