Abstract
Tourism brings many benefits but also holds potential negative impacts if not well managed. Tourists’ awareness of these impacts can contribute to protecting destinations and improving the livelihoods of local communities, bringing long-term benefits to both travelers and destinations. The study surveyed 578 people aged 18 to 30 in Da Nang city, representing a young generation with unique travel experience trends, to assess their understanding of the impact of tourism on the environment, economy, culture - society, and their willingness to engage in responsible tourism behaviors at destinations. Survey results show that young people have a good foundation of awareness about the impact of tourism on sustainable development and a fairly positive attitude towards responsible tourism behavior. They are particularly interested in respecting local culture, supporting the community economy, and sharing experiences. However, the level of willingness gradually decreases for behaviors that require more time, effort, or financial commitment. The article also proposes several solutions to further promote the implementation of these behaviors among young people.
