TRADITIONAL CHINESE CULTURE IN JIN YONG’S MARTIAL ARTS NOVELS – THE PROCESS OF RECEPTION AND REFLECTION

Jin Yong (1924 – 2018) is considered one of the most influential writers in the history of contemporary Chinese literature. The depth of cultural and historical value is a prominent feature that creates the unique appeal and charm of the martial arts novels written by Jin Yong. So, how is traditional Chinese culture represented in the martial arts novels of Jin Yong? This issue is clarified in the content of the article. To address the issue, we employ the method of synthesis analysis and the interdisciplinary research method. The synthesis analysis method helps to elucidate the process by which Jin Yong absorbs and reflects on traditional culture. The interdisciplinary research method supports exploring the works from various perspectives social, philosophical, religious, historical, etc. to highlight the depth, subtlety, and the talent of Jin Yong in crafting a world of martial arts that is both captivating and deeply philosophical. From this, the article aims to offer a perspective on the spiritual and cultural values brought by Jin Yong and his works.
