THE IMPACT OF LEADER’S PERSONAL QUALITIES ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT OF EMPLOYEES AT BANKS IN DA NANG CITY

Abstract
The study aims to determine the impact of leader’s personal qualities on organizational commitment of employees at banks. Research data is collected through survey of employees at banks in Da Nang city. Personal qualities of leaders are approached in 6 groups of qualities in 2 aspects, positive and negative. The results of the regression analysis show that if the leader has positive qualities, the employees will have a higher level of organizational commitment. In contrast, leaders with negative qualities result in lower employee organizational commitment. Regarding the level of impact, the factors affecting the employee organizational commitment in decreasing order are as follows: (1) “Humanity – Justice”; (2) “Self regulation – Beauty”; (3) “Emotional – Harmonious thinking”; (4) “Initiative – The ability to turn things around”; (5) “Curiosity - Love of learning”; (6) “Narcissism - Hubris - Social Dominance”. Through the research results, the article makes some suggestions for leaders to improve employee commitment with the organization.
