Abstract
In the context of modern higher education, developing self-study ability is a key factor, especially in foreign language learning. Microsoft Teams, with its learning management, document sharing and online interaction features, is considered an effective support tool in enhancing students' self-study ability. This study investigated students' evaluation of the application of Microsoft Teams to develop self-study ability through a survey of 40 first-year students and interviews with 18 students at a university. The results showed that students highly appreciated Microsoft Teams in supporting self-study with an average score of 4.29/5. Notable factors recognized to be contributed to the enhancement of self-study included the ability to track learning progress, manage time and understand learning tasks. Microsoft Teams is confirmed to be a useful platform to enhance self-study, creating a flexible and friendly learning environment. However, there are still limitations such as difficulty maintaining concentration while studying. The study recommends expanding the scale and integrating more support tools for more comprehensive assessment in the future.
