Abstract
This study evaluates the role of green skills education in bridging the professional competencies of youth in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations with the demands of the sustainable labor market. The methodology employed includes document analysis and in-depth interviews to determine the context of the green labor market and the current status of green skills education in the region. The article clarifies the main roles, challenges, and lessons learned in developing these skills. Findings indicate an increasing demand for green skills, particularly in green industries. However, the integration of green skills into education in Vietnam remains limited due to inadequate training programs and insufficient coordination among stakeholders. The study also identifies factors affecting the uneven development of green skills education. To address these limitations, the research proposes strengthening public-private collaborations, curriculum integration, and enhancing awareness of the green economy, aiming to promote employment opportunities for youth in the sustainable labor market. Its significance lies in providing a foundation for education and labor policies, contributing to the development of a green and sustainable economy in the region.
