WORLDVIEW AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND CULTTURAL LIFE OF THE THAI PEOPLE THROUGH THE EPIC AM ET

Abstract

This article studies the Thai epic Am et, a typical work in the folklore treasure, in order to analyze the worldview and socio-economic life of the Thai people. The study applies methods such as the systematic method, the classification method, the analysis-synthesis method and the interdisciplinary method to clarify the cosmological concepts, social institutions and economic life of the Thai people in the Amet epic. The research results indicate that Amet reflects the Thai people's concept of the formation of the universe, the relationship between humans and the natural world, and the characteristics of the economic life of the Thai people. The article also helps to identify the characteristics of the social organization system and the agricultural production process of the Thai people in ancient times. The research results not only vividly recreate the spiritual and material life of the Thai people but also affirm profound humanistic values, contributing to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage in the modern context.
