EVALUATE THE POTENTIAL FOR DEVELOPING SPIRITUAL TOURISM IN QUANG YEN TOWN, QUANG NINH PROVINCE

Abstract

Quang Yen town has many potentials and strengths for tourism development. Thanks to the rich system of cultural and historical relics, the town has outstanding advantages in developing spiritual tourism. However, there is currently a lack of studies to fully assess this potential in a comprehensive and detailed manner. Therefore, this research aims to create a scientific basis for the locality to build spiritual tourism development orientations. The author uses the integrated evaluation method by weighted scale points to assess 11 key points of relics of the town according to 5 criteria. The evaluation results show that most of the relics have reached the "favorable" level, of which one has reached the "very favorable" level for the development of spiritual tourism. Spiritual tourism development can be considered as a driving force for the development of tourism in particular and the socio-economic sustainable development of the town in general.
