GENDER EQUALITY EDUCATION IN TEXTBOOK VIETNAMESE 1 - PROGRAM 2018 (The book Connecting knowledge to life)

Abstract

Gender equality is an issue of many countries, including Vietnam, because gender equality is the goal for the sustainable development of society, one of the important criteria to evaluate the development of the country. In order to achieve the gender equality goals, education to raise awareness about gender equality is very necessary. Textbooks play a significant role in developing social standards and forming a view of gender equality among students. The article analyzes the content of gender equality education in Vietnamese textbooks in grade 1 - the book Connecting knowledge to life. The results are synthesized from the materials on psychology, methods of teaching Vietnamese and in practice to contribute to clarify the orientation of education in this important issue in Vietnamese schools in the future.
