AN INITIAL STEP TO LEARN ABOUT COMMON MISTAKES MADE BY KOREAN LANGUAGE LEARNERS AT THE SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE - THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY

Abstract
This study aims to provide general understanding of common errors among students’ Korean learning process at The School of Foreign Language - Thai Nguyen University. In addition, the study also analyzes and investigates the error rate for students' Korean language learning. Research subjects include 120 students majoring in the Korean language of the school. Data collection tools base on modules in the Korean training program, learning outcomes, tests, language practice skills in the learning and training process of the 2020-2021 school year. Research results show that most students often encounter many basic errors that vary depending on each module, each stage of language acquisition. At the same time, the errors made by students also account for different proportions, of which non-transformative errors account for the highest rate of 78.9%, and errors in the form of text editing when compiling account for a low rate of 8.8%. In addition, the study also points out basic errors through typical and typical examples in the process of learning Korean. This study will be a useful reference source for lecturers teaching Korean language as well as a helpful guidance for learners to find suitable ways to avoid mistakes and enjoy an easier and more convenient Korean learning process.
