ASSESSMENT OF THE HOUSEHOLD WASTE SORTING AT SOURCE IN QUANG TRUNG WARD, THAI NGUYEN CITY

Abstract

The study was carried out in groups 1, 2, 3, Quang Trung wards, Thai Nguyen city to evaluate the classification of domestic waste at source after the city's pilot project. The methods used in this study include: Analytical method, document synthesis, sociological investigation, mathematics. Research results show that, 100% of households and business households in the area agree and support the project of classifying domestic waste at the source of the city; 89.15% of households know how to sort garbage; 90.55% of households put garbage in the right place; the majority of households have classified domestic waste and the number of households that perform waste classification reaches the rate of 56.14%; The number of households using the garbage sorting tools that are distributed for the right purposes and dumping the garbage on time is not high. Although propaganda has been carried out to each household according to the pilot project of 4 wards of the city, the amount of domestic waste generated has not been thoroughly resolved. The study has also proposed solutions to improve the efficiency of waste separation at source: it should be carried out synchronously, attracting the participation of the whole population, collecting it on time, contributing to environmental protection. and human health.
