A NUMBER OF CHARACTERISTICS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE LISTENING COMPREHENSION

Abstract

Listening comprehension is of paramount importance in communication process as well as in teaching and learning foreign languages. This verbal activity, albeit, has been given modest insights so far. From the perspective of teaching methodology on foreign languages, the author has written the article on importance, roles and classification of foreign language listening comprehension, published in the TNU Journal of Science and Technology, volume 225, no. 07/1, 2020. On the basis of synthesis and analysis document, with the aim of continuing to learn about this type of speech activity, from which to propose specific teaching-learning methods, in subsequent articles the author presents a number of characteristics of listening comprehension in foreign languages. The paper can be considered as one of the contributions to the theory of listening comprehension, from which new teaching methodologies are proposed with a view to improve the effectiveness in teaching and learning this speech activity.
