FACTORS AFFECTING THE WORKING MOTIVATION OF YOUNG LECTURERS AT DONG THAP UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the factors affecting the working motivation of young lecturers at Dong Thap University. On the basis of a review of previous studies and a combination of target group discussions (01 group of 02 experts and 05 young lecturers), the authors built a questionnaire and conducted a survey of 245 young lecturers who are currently working at the school, on the E-Office mail system (eoffice.dthu.edu.vn). The results obtained 212 responses, of which 204 were valid and the author conducted coding, data entry and preparation for analysis. Besides, the authors use data analysis methods such as: Cronbach's Alpha reliability test, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and multiple linear regression analysis with the support of  SPSS 22.0 tool. Research results show that there are 04 factors that affect the working motivation of young lecturers at Dong Thap University such as: 1) Job characteristics and facilities, (2) the student collective, (3) income and (4) promotion. In which, the job characteristics and facilities is the factor that has the strongest influence on the working motivation of young lecturers at Dong Thap University.
