Abstract

The essential oils from leaves, branches, roots and cones of the Keteleeria evelyniana  was collected in Xuan Nha Nature Reserve, Moc Chau district, Son La province, Vietnam and was obtained by steam distilation and the yield of essential oils was  0.1%, 0.06%, 0.014% and 1.56% from air-dry material. By using GC/MS analysis, there are 42 constituents from leaves were identified and accounting 99.74% of essential oil. The main constituents were α-pinene (27.07%), β-pinene (17.85%), limonene (8.57%), β-caryophyllene (13.48%) and β-phellandrene (6.05%); there are 42 constituents from branches  were identified  and accounting 98.67% of essential oil. The main constituents were α-pinene (16.85%), β-pinene (8.26%), limonene (16.29%), β-caryophyllene (25.18%), β-phellandrene (9.57%) and α-humulene (4.98%). There are 41 constituents from roots were identified and accounting 98.09% of essential oil. The main constituents were α-pinene (24.73%), β-caryophyllene (43.84%) and α-humulene (8.83%). There are 23 constituents from cones  were identified  and accounting 98.98% of essential oil. The main constituents were α-pinene (56.56%), β-pinene (21.73%), myrcene (6.82%) and germacrene D (4.06%). This is the first study on the chemical constituents of essential oils from the branchs, roots, and cones of Keteleeria evelyniana  in Vietnam.
