Abstract

This paper presents a method with more than three carriers to decrease input current and stress voltage across components in QSBI. The proposed technique has some short circuit time of the DC/DC booster and one in the inverter in the position of the zero vectors. The base of this technique is increasing the number of carriers. The algorithm that increases the number of carrier waves also helps to not only reduce the voltage on the DC link capacitor but also reduce the input current and voltage for the QSBI inverter. That gets economic benefits such as: reduce the current and voltage applied to the switches; reducing inductance and capacitance; so leading to a reduction in the size of the circuit. The simulation results show that the DC-Link voltage can be reduced by 33% when the number of carriers increases from 2 to 5 and the input current decreases by 33.4%. The technique is highly effective if a large boost ratio is required. In the article, we have analyzed and recommended the number of carriers needed to achieve the highest performance. Technical clarification analysis and evaluation simulation of the proposed method is also present in the paper.
