Abstract

The objective of this research is to select the best final cross-bred boar combinations between three above breeds to produce high productivi ty and quality commercial pigs. The research was implemented on 1,718 individuals of 12 cross-bred combinations with research targets of the traits of  body weigh gain (BWG), back fat thick layer (BFTL), feed - intake (FI) and lean meat ratio (LMR). The research results showed that all of cross-bred combinations had good expression of heterosis on  BWG and LMR. It’s variation from  0.06 to 1.06% and 0.04 to 2.47%, reps. The traits of BFTL and FI had no heterosis expression. For cross-bred combinations of  D and P: The best heterosis on BWG in DP (1.06%) and DxDP (0.89%); and the best heterosis on LMR in PD (0.82%) and DP (0.38%). For cross-bred combinations of D and L: The best heterosis on BWG in DL (1.00%) and LxDL (0.66%); And the best heterosis on LMR in DL (0.91%) and DxLD (0.71%). For cross-bred combinations of P and L: The best heterosis on BWG in PL (0.35%) and PxLP (0.24%); And the best heterosis on LMR in three cross-bred of PL (2.47%), PxLP (1.25%) and LxPL (0.83%). Base on these reserach results, 06 crossbred combinations of DP, DxPD, DL, LxDL, PL and PxLP were selected for the next selection steps.
