RESULTS OF TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF THE PROSTATE IN THAI NGUYEN CENTRAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common disease in elderly men. This study uses a descriptive cross-section method to evaluate the results of laparoscopic prostatectomy benign prostatic proliferation on 118 patients at the Department of Urology - Thai Nguyen Central Hospital from January 2018 to June 2020. The study results showed that the average age was 72.96 ± 9.22 (48-96 years old), the average pre-operative IPSS score was 25.21 ± 3.96 (8-35 points), the average QoL score before surgery was 4.87 ± 0.84 (3-6 points). The verage prostate weight on ultrasound was 51.63 ± 20.01 (30-144g). The average time of surgery, postoperative, urinary circulation, bladder wash infusion was 56.78 ± 16.78 minutes, 7.81 ± 2.11 days (4-17 days), 5.69 ± 1.33 days (4-12 days), 4.43 ± 0.84 days (3-8 days) respectively. Complications after surgery included endoscopic syndrome in 1 patient (0.85%), postoperative bleeding in 4 patients (3.4%), urinary retention after urinary withdrawal in 8 patients (6.76%), infected postoperative urinary in 9 patients (7.63%), urinary tract in 1 patient (0.85%), sclerosis of the bladder in 2 patients (1.7%). 95/118 patients (80.5%) had good surgical results; followed by 20/118 patients (16.9%) getting average results, and 3/118 patients (2.5%) with bad results.
