STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF SOME PLANTING MEDIA AND FERTILIZERS ON GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT OF CUCUMIS MELO L IN THE NETHOUSE

Abstract

Cucumis melo L is a vegetable with short growing time and bringing high economic efficiency to the producers. In this study, we evaluated the effects of some plant media and fertilizers on the growth and development of Korean melon in the summer 2020. Result in 1^st experiment shows that melon grown with 1/3 coconut fiber + 2/3 organic fertilizer SH Nong Lam HDT-01 (CT3) gives the best growth data: Growing time 75 days, fruit diameter 17.25 cm, fruit length 19.76 cm, average fruit weight 1.9 kg, yield 48.5 tons and Brix 14.69. Result in 2^nd experiment shows that melon grown with Haifa Israel fertilizer (CT2) gives the best growth data: Growing time 72 days, fruit diameter 12.35 cm, fruit length 16.52 cm, average fruit weight 1.27 kg, yield  24.96 tons and Brix 13.61.
