Abstract
The objective of this study aimed some effects of green tea leaf powder on the growth and disease prevention in the gastrointestinal and respiratory tract of Huong Pigs from 21 days to 6 months of age raised at the pig farm at Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. A total of 45 pigs were batched as follows: Control batch (DC) was 15 pigs, Expermental batch 1 (TN1) and batch 2 (TN2) were the same as 15 pigs). DC did not add green tea leaf powder, TN1 added 20 grams of green tea leaf powder/kg of feed, TN2 added 30 grams of green tea leaf powder/kg of feed. The results showed that when supplementing green tea leaf powder that increased the growth ability and reduced digestive and respiratory diseases rate of Huong Pigs. At the end of the experiment, the bodyweight of Huong Pigs in TN2 batch increased higher than TN1 and DC (P < 0.05). The absolute growth of Huong Pigs in TN2 is the highest, followed by TN and the lowest was DC (P <0.05). The rate of pigs infected by gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases of Huong Pigs in the expermental batches are higher than that of DC, TN1 is higher than TN2. Using Tiamulin and Bromhexine medicines to treat respiratory syndrome for Huong Pigs; Hanflo and B.complex medicines to treat diarrhea syndrome in Huong Pigs showed that: TN1 and TN2 had the same recovery rat at 100% while DC at 75.0%.
