Abstract

Male infertility is a complex disease caused by many factors, including defects in many genes involved in spermatogenesis. In particular, TEX15 gene has been shown to be associated with male infertility in many populations around the world. This study aimed to evaluate the correlation of TEX15 rs323346 polymorphism with male infertility in Vietnamese population. Total DNA was extracted from 401 samples, including 202 male infertility and 199 healthy men with at least one child. The genotypes/alleles of the TEX15 rs323346 were determined by PCR-RFLP. Statistical analysis results showed that the distribution of the genotypes of the rs323346 follows Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (p > 0.05). Chi-square test results showed that this polymorphism did not affect the risk of male infertility (p > 0.05). This is the first study to evaluate the association of TEX15 rs323346 with male infertility in the Vietnamese population. The results will contribute to the genetic database of male infertility in the Vietnamese population.
